By accessing or using Fontplant, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About Fontplant
Fontplant is a browser-based handwriting-to-font platform that allows users to create production-ready fonts directly in the browser.
Features may include:
- Handwriting-based font creation
- Font editing and preview tools
- Font export functionality
- Project storage and synchronization
- Browser-based and cloud-assisted font processing
We may update, improve, modify, or discontinue features at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Fontplant.
By using the service, you represent that:
- you can legally enter into these Terms
- the information you provide is accurate
- you will comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. User Accounts
Some features may require an account.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your account
- protecting your login credentials
- all activity occurring under your account
You agree not to:
- impersonate another person or organization
- share accounts in abusive or unauthorized ways
- attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Plans, Billing & Subscriptions
Fontplant may offer both free and paid subscription plans.
Current plans may include:
- Free Plan
- Fontplant+
Paid subscriptions may include recurring monthly or yearly billing.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges until cancellation.
Prices, features, and limits may change over time.
Payments are securely processed by Stripe. Fontplant does not store full payment card information.
5. Free Plan Limitations
Free plans may include usage limitations such as:
- character limits
- export limitations
- temporary project retention
- reduced storage duration
Free plan features may change at any time.
6. Refund Policy
Unless required by law, payments are generally non-refundable.
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact support.
7. Ownership of User Content
Users retain ownership of:
- handwriting submissions
- font projects
- generated fonts
- uploaded content
- exported files
Fontplant does not claim ownership of user-created fonts or handwriting.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the rights necessary to create, upload, export, or distribute your content.
8. Fontplant Intellectual Property
Fontplant and its underlying technology, including but not limited to:
- software
- branding
- user interface
- generation systems
- algorithms
- design assets
- platform infrastructure
remain the property of Fontplant and its licensors.
These Terms do not grant ownership of the platform itself.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- violate laws or regulations
- infringe intellectual property rights
- upload malicious or harmful content
- distribute malware or harmful code
- interfere with platform stability or security
- abuse system resources
- attempt unauthorized access
- reverse engineer the service except where legally permitted
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
10. Generated Fonts & User Responsibility
Users are responsible for ensuring that generated fonts and uploaded content comply with applicable laws and third-party rights.
Fontplant is not responsible for:
- copyright disputes
- trademark conflicts
- licensing violations
- misuse of generated fonts
Users assume responsibility for distributing and using exported fonts.
11. Browser-Based Processing
Fontplant performs much of its handwriting and font generation processing directly within the user’s browser.
Some cloud-assisted or server-side processing may occur for:
- larger character sets
- storage features
- synchronization
- export processing
- reliability improvements
Performance and compatibility may vary depending on browser, device, and system configuration.
12. Data Retention & Storage
Project retention varies depending on the selected plan.
Free Plan
- temporary retention
- browser/local-device storage
- automatic project deletion after limited duration
Fontplant+
- extended project retention
- cloud synchronization
- saved projects
Users are responsible for exporting or backing up important projects.

13. Third-Party Services
Fontplant may rely on third-party providers including:
- payment processors
- hosting providers
- analytics services
- infrastructure providers
Use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
14. No AI Training on User Content
Fontplant does not use user handwriting, font projects, or generated fonts to train machine learning or AI models without explicit permission from the user.
15. Service Availability
Fontplant is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- the service will always be uninterrupted
- all features will remain available
- exports will always be error-free
- compatibility will work perfectly across all systems
Maintenance, updates, outages, or technical limitations may occur.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fontplant and its affiliates shall not be liable for:
- indirect damages
- loss of profits
- loss of data
- business interruption
- loss of creative work
- export issues
- compatibility issues
- unauthorized access beyond commercially reasonable safeguards
Your use of the service is at your own risk.
17. Security
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards intended to protect user data and platform integrity.
However, no method of storage, transmission, or internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure.
18. Termination
You may stop using Fontplant at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- these Terms are violated
- abuse is detected
- platform security is threatened
- fraudulent activity occurs
Termination may result in deletion of associated projects or stored data.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically.
Continued use of Fontplant after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If major changes occur, we may provide additional notice.
20. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
