Account Information
When you create an account, we collect necessary details such as your email address, authentication provider information, and basic profile information.
Handwriting & Font Data
Fontplant handles creative handwriting data. To provide our service, we may collect and store:
- Handwriting strokes and vector glyph data.
- Generated font files.
- Font project metadata and export preferences.
We only collect and store project data necessary to provide the service.
Technical Information
To monitor system health and improve performance, we collect standard technical details, including:
- Browser type and settings.

How We Process Data
Fontplant performs much of its font generation and handwriting processing directly within your browser.
Server processing may occur for larger character sets or cloud features. When server processing is required, it is used strictly to generate and export fonts, and to improve the reliability and performance of the platform.
Data Retention
Free Plan
Project data is retained for up to 7 days. Guest projects may be deleted immediately after your session ends. Browser-side and local storage may be used to hold your working state.
Fontplant+
Project retention is available for up to 180 days. Cloud synchronization and saved projects are available to ensure you can access them when needed.
User-Controlled Deletion
Users may delete projects manually at any time. Account deletion requests are fully supported to erase your profile and associated data permanently.
Local Browser Storage
Browser storage technologies may be used to save your progress. Local device storage may retain project information natively on your machine.
Because this data lives on your device, users are responsible for securing their own device and browser environment.
Payments
Payments are securely processed by Stripe and Paddle. Fontplant does not store full payment card information on our servers.
Analytics & Cookies
We use cookies primarily for authentication sessions. We also use analytics usage metrics and performance monitoring tools to ensure our platform is reliable and running smoothly.
Data Sharing
Fontplant does not sell personal data.
Limited sharing may occur strictly with infrastructure providers, payment processors, analytics providers, and hosting providers necessary to operate the service securely.
Ownership of Generated Fonts
Users retain ownership of their handwriting, font projects, and generated font files. Fontplant does not claim ownership over user-created fonts.

We implement commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted connections and operational monitoring of our infrastructure.
